We are here to help. Our caring, professional staff are available through a toll-free number 24/7/365 to connect you with free, in-person professional counseling services and follow-up. Appointments are available days and evenings, usually within 72 hours of the initial contact. If you have an emergency, a face-to-face appointment is scheduled on the same day.

Financial counseling services

Certified financial counselors provide financial assessment and counseling services either in person or telephonically. Services include budgeting assistance, financial planning, mortgage analysis, and college planning consultation. Financial counselors can also assess, prepare and refer you to specialized debt management programs or loan modifications.

Substance abuse counseling

Experienced, licensed clinical and/or certified addictions counselors provide comprehensive drug and alcohol assessments, outpatient counseling as appropriate and case management services.

Legal services

Free legal consultation with an attorney on various areas of the law (excluding work-related issues) as well as online legal resources. If you request a referral, you will receive a 25% discount off all attorney fees.

Eldercare specialists

Eldercare specialists can help with the emotional and practical issues that affect families with aging relatives. The identified relative is also eligible to use the EAP benefit.

Childcare consultation

Employees and their families can get guidance on childcare issues from parenting education to evaluating daycare options. EAN thoroughly screens the best options prior to referral to ensure the best match.

Career guidance

EAN offers guidance for employees and family members seeking direction on the next steps in their professional development.

College planning

EAN offers two session hours with a college consultant to educate students and parents about college planning and admissions. These sessions may include help with planning during high school to strengthen college applications, developing timetables for test-taking and visiting schools, and helping reduce costs. College planners can also help with applications and essays.

Student loan consultation

A student loan specialist can provide personalized guidance to help you navigate the variety of options available to pay back student loans efficiently and in accordance with your budget.

Health and wellness advice

EAN provides on-site wellness seminars as well as a convenient online library.

Adoption consultation

An adoption expert will guide you through the adoption process, including pre- and post-adoption consultation, analysis of the choices and costs of adoption, referrals to international and domestic agencies, access to support groups, and other community resources.

Online assistance

Online help is only a click away with EAN’s dedicated website offering thousands of resources such as articles, links to wellness and behavioral health organizations, and self-administered assessment tools ready to access at your convenience.

Referrals to community resources

EAN can help you navigate unfamiliar systems and connect you with valuable local assistance. Referrals include – but are not limited to – housing programs, disaster relief, emergency financial programs for utility bills and rental assistance, career transition programs, and government programs.

Coordination of post-EAP services with insurance

Most EAN counselors are also covered by major medical plans. If you decide to continue after using the EAP sessions, EAN will coordinate with the insurance company to ensure services with your same provider are covered under your health insurance. If you do not have insurance, the provider may be able to lower the fees or refer you to a sliding-scale program.

On-site wellness workshops / lunch and learns

Workshops can be held on site by our skilled counseling staff as well as an extended Metropolitan Family Services network of licensed professionals that includes social workers, lawyers, financial counselors, and eldercare specialists.
